develop online educational strategies targeted at young human rights educators, activists and defenders to increase their competences to protect human rights in virtual environment. The session had the following objectives: - to discuss the notion of hate speech and how it affects young people - to discuss and reflect on the limits of freedom of expression - to share experience in taking action for human rights online - to analyse the role of the Network in promoting human rights activism online - to develop participants competences in using online learning/training tools that can be used to train people on how to protect human rights online - to discuss the use of social networks in human rights work - to design educational modules for training online for young human rights defenders and activists - to plan educational activities online As a Participant I was first lost then found at European Youth Center Strasbourg. My second international study session, my second meeting with HREYN. And the topic of the training was Hate Speech. Based on my previous experience I expected much from this session. I was even prepared to get information I would not understand but I did not expect to be so out of the topic. Only on the third day I found out what LGBT means although from the first day I kept repeating that LGBT is one of the most vulnerable groups of people. I was ashamed to ask anybody what it means and finally turned to Google's help. Honestly, at that time I did not get the importance and the power of hate speech. I did not realise it has such a great influence on people and how easily it can make a person hater. After the training I started studying hate speech deeper and now I pay attention and combat any hate speech I hear from my friends, my relatives or from people I don't know. If a person is a "victim" of a hate speech he/she automatically becomes a disseminater too. In the end I want to repeat my words in our "No Hate" video: If you hate something or somebody, try to check the information that made you a hater. Maybe it was wrong.
